Salad does not always have to mean a lot of work with snipping. I often buy the ready-made salad mix from the REWE refrigerated section (best choice). Grab the garlic dressing and refine the almost finished salad with cubes of herder's cheese, finely chopped onions and extra garlic.
Recently, the spontaneous idea of adding dried tomatoes came up. I was excited. Most tomatoes from the supermarket are rather bland to my taste. But these were bold and slightly sweet. Just great.
