So far I've been using the 28mm Fabled Realms series of building parts from 4Ground for my Freebooter's Fate record. Of course, the big advantage was that they were already pre-colored.
But on the official FF page I came across the City of Longfall series. Kinda more consistent in style. More Caribbean flair in my opinion. The 4Ground houses have more of the European medieval character.
So I order the Black Swan set and the Cabaña La Tanda archway to test it out. The latter because Tabletop Basement had created a nice pirate diorama for it (link to it at the end of the article).
In terms of assembly, however, I found the 4Ground pieces more pleasant. Probably just a matter of getting used to it, but I blocked myself a few times. I had swapped the interior walls in particular quite often, so that the doors no longer fitted the way they were supposed to.
I'm curious to see if I'll make these mistakes again in the next building. Maybe I'll make a suitable assembly video.
But what I really like about the buildings is that the roofs can also be made accessible and the different buildings can be put together individually. The upper part of the Cabaña La Tanda can also be swapped with the Black Swan roof and vice versa.
So many possibilities for an individual longfall. The small wall projections provide even more cover options.
