The Church of St. Nikolai in Wismar was built between 1381 and 1487 as a church for seafarers and fishermen. It is considered a masterpiece of late Gothic in Northern Europe. As part of Wismar's old town, the Nikolaikirche has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2002.
